St Mary’s Playgroup celebrates it’s 50th Birthday next year!!
Our longest standing member of staff, Marie started working here 22 years ago, just after her two children left.
While still a wonderful setting, playgroup looked very different back then:
Sessions ran from 9 – 12 from Tuesday to Friday and a pre-school session ran on a Monday after Easter until the summer.
Fast forward to today and my goodness, how we’ve progressed!
Our team of 7 run sessions 5 days a week offering all day sessions, early drop off and late pick up options and lunch clubs.
Alongside this, we run 2 Forest School sessions at our magical site on the outskirts of town, so children can enjoy the many benefits of outdoor learning.
To top this off we have just achieved an OUTSTANDING report from Ofsted. Not bad for a small, pack-away Playgroup that runs out of a Church Hall!!
